Rachel is a native of Eastern Washington farm country. She attended the University of Mississippi for two years before transferring to Arizona State University to pursue a degree in nursing. She was awarded athletic scholarships from both institutions to run cross country and track at the competitive Division I level. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007.
After working as a RN for four years at hospitals located in Arizona, Utah and Australia, Rachel desired to expand her scope of practice. She then went on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with magna cum laude honors. After graduation, she specifically sought out a position within the field of dermatology as she has always held a passion for skin. Initially Rachel worked for a New Jersey based dermatology company, then transitioned to private practice with a dermatologist in Reading, PA. Rachel and her husband moved to Redding, CA in 2017, started a family, and Rachel returned to work as a dermatology Nurse Practitioner with CKDerm in June 2020.
Rachel has a passion for patient education and individualizes treatment regimens for each individual she diagnoses and treats. Rachel has three beautiful daughters and loves spending time with her family. She also maintains a passion for running and loves the outdoors, live music, traveling (it’ll resume once no one in the family is in diapers) and hole in the wall eating establishments.
